The Sound of Music Tour – Salzburg

The life of the Trapp family is world famous and inseparable from the city of Salzburg. Around 300,000 people visit the locations of film history every year.

Briefly about the plot of the film: It all starts with the character Maria. Maria is a novice in the Nonnberg Monastery. The other nuns send Maria to the Baron von Trapp, whose wife has died. Maria is given the task of taking care of the baron’s seven children. With her style she quickly conquered the hearts of children and barons. The baron marries Maria and they live a harmonious family life. Singing and dancing play an important role for the family and Maria therefore founds a family choir.

The choir takes part in a folk music competition in Salzburg and wins it. When the Baron von Trapp is forced to join the German Navy, he refuses and therefore flees with his family to Switzerland and from there to the USA. The family is touring all over America under the title “Trapp Family Singers” to give concerts.
